How to use licensed databases
The NL offers its registered users many foreign and Czech licensed databases. Most of these databases are accessible online, a small part part of them is only accessible on CD-ROM.
Online Licensed databases
There are designated computers in the NL reading rooms that are intended for search in online licensed databases. The online databases are usually accessible also off-site through remote access. It is also allowed to search these online databases on ones´own laptops with Wi-fi connection on the Klementinum library premises.
Databases on CD-ROM
There are special computers in the Reference Centre intended for search in the selected databases on CD-ROM.
Subject Databases
Apart from the multidisciplinary databases and those focused more broadly, the offer of licensed resources includes a number of databases specialised in librarianship, music, manuscripts and early printed books etc. Consultancy and access to these databases are preferentially provided in the respective specialized reading rooms.
E-periodicals and e-books
The online licensed databases also offer full texts of many e-periodicals and e-books. Information on these documents can be found in particular in the online catalogue and in case of e-periodicals also in parallel in other systems (e-periodicals UIG).
