British Ambassador visited the NL
On Tuesday, 30 May, 2023, the British Ambassador, Matt Field, visited the National Library of the Czech Republic (NL). He was welcomed by the NL General Director, Tomáš Foltýn, and the Deputy Director for Science, Research and the International Relations, Adolf Knoll. They discussed the possibility of a long-term cooperation in the field of digitization of both historical and modern collections between the National Library and The British Library (BL), and the BL´s new concept for the forthcoming period, celebrations of the 50th anniversary of its establishment, and the possibility of many other joint activities in promoting culture and education in both countries. J. E. Matt Field was also shown round the unique Klementinum premises and looked through interesting documents from the NL collections related to history of the United KIngdom and to his personal interest in Japanese history.
