60 YEARS ON THE WINGS OF ALBATROS
25th November 2009 – 7th February 2010


The exhibition is a highlight of the events held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Albatros Publishing House,
the oldest and largest publisher of children´s books in the Czech Republic.

It is a unique exhibition project, prestigious in both the number of exhibited works and the featured authors. Among around one hundred titles, a visitor can find popular works by Josef Lada, Jiří Trnka, Ondřej Sekora, Zdeněk Miler, Václav Čtvrtek and other authors and illustrators of children´s books. Many works are presented in their original editions, rarely preserved in the collections of the National Library of the CR.

200 YEARS OF PRAGUE CONSERVATORY - the oldest conservatory in Central Europe
15th January - 27th March 2010

A touring exhibition, organised in association with the Prague Conservatory, commemorates an important anniversary of the foundation of this cultural institution, which was included among the UNESCO World Anniversaries for the year 2011. The exhibition summarises the most important that the school has brought Czech, European and world culture over the course of its existence and it also commemorates eminent personalities, who studied there.

BY MEANS OF MUTUAL RAPPROCHEMENT
"The Czech-Russian Unity" 1919-1939
11th - 26th January 2010

An exhibition about the activity of a cultural association, the mission of which was to cultivate Czech-Russian mutualrelations. Representatives of Czech science and culture as well as well-known personalities from the Russian émigré circles worked in its commitee. An important role was played, among other, by the writer and translator Anna Teskova, famous in cultural history as the addressee of letters of the greatest Russian poetress Marina Cvetajeva.

Exhibition grounds of the Slavonic Library on the Third floor, Monday to Friday: 9 am - 7 pm, Saturday: 9 am - 2 pm.
